there have been some efforts lately to improve the tildeverse federation of tildes. i'd like to have a discussion here of how we should move forward and keep our tilde.team identity at the same time. what are your thoughts?

Perhaps that doesn't distinguish it from other tildes as much, but it helps define things for me vs the information super highway at large. Ben, I love your efforts toward the greater tilde universe and I think you share a similar focus toward keeping things small and relevant while also bridging some gaps. Personally, I'd love to see a FIDONET style "TildeNET" message board system grow out of bbj. I think that would be fascinating. Just like in the BBS days, having the local boards vs the federated boards would be very helpful in keeping a sense of local identity and avoiding getting lost in the churn. Keep up the good work.

I agree with the comments above with the added observation that as a newcomer and primarily a townie my feelings are that team is kind of a bridge and a gateway from town to the verse town is so blocked off and locked in and kind of inward facing. no open ports, etc. and team builds on all the good things about town and adds more outward facing stuff. it interfaces more with the rest of the world. with the next logical step being to turn one's attention starwards, toward the sky and the tildeverse at large.
