hey all! i'm currently using amfora/lynx for tty browsing, and i was wondering if you guys have any other recommendations. especially for http; i'm quite happy with amfora, but i'm not crazy about lynx's interface.

I used to use lynx, then I switched to links, because I got tired of cookie popups. Now I use edbrowse. Edbrowse is hard to learn because it's radically different from other browsers. But now that I can use it more or less fluidly it's my favorite. It also supports javascript. That's how advanced it is. Sometimes I use wget to download whole website and read them with lynx later.

>>OP I also use a combination of wget/curl and a browser like lynx for offline reading. ~say: I'll have to give edbrowse a try. Sounds interesting.

>>OP Try the 'w3m' tty browser. It renders pix... sometimes

>>OP I've been using offpunk recently, and it's pretty nice (although quite weird, at first, not gonna lie) It can do gemini, gopher and http, as well as manage subscriptions (rss, atom, gemlogs...), which makes it great for reading stuff. I tried all the classic ones (links, elinks, lynx, w3m... am I forgetting any?) and didn't really have a favorite. Some pages would be easier to read in ones, others in other... for gemini I was using amfora and bombadillo, but amfora had weird graphic glitches I didn't like (and it's now somewhat abandoned)... offpunk is taking over all of those now. I'm recommending it everywhere recently. The author is also quite nice and welcoming in the mailing lists.

>>OP w3m for www stuff. I've got lynx installed for the sake of having it on hand, and as for Gemini? I've got Offpunk rattling around for backpocket uses, and amphora. My problem is i keep wanting to do more terminal web stuff, and just... never do.
